Meet the Clarks
Paul grew up in Japan as a missionary kid (MK) arriving at the time of the Occupation in the early 50s (1950-55), the son of Martin and Evelyn Clark. He spent 3 years active duty in the Army Special Forces (Green Berets), graduated from San Jose Bible College, now William Jessup University (B.A. 1967), Lincoln Christian Seminary (M.A., M.Div., 1983), and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (D.Miss., 1985).
Rickie grew up in California as a preacher's kid (PK), the daughter of Dennis and Effie Rickard. Paul and Rickie were married in July 1961 and she graduated from San Jose Bible College (B.A. 1962). Interestingly, Dennis Rickard baptized Martin Clark during his first full-time ministry. Paul and Rickie ministered over 20 years in churches in Oregon, California, and Illinois before arriving in Japan in July of 1985.
While they came under call to Osaka Bible Seminary with the prospect of Paul’s becoming President, it was seen as a Call to Greater Asia with Japan becoming a beachhead to Asia, as it has resulted with their ministry in Mongolia since 1999, as well as Russia (Irkutsk) 1999 to 2006.

They have four children: Jennifer (Mrs. Chad) Huddleston (a missionary with her husband in Ishinomaki, Japan); Jocelyn (Mrs. Chris) Wolfe (forwarding agents for both the Clarks and the Huddlestons, and living in Columbia, MO); Jeremy (married to Amy), living in Raleigh, NC and working from home as a Vice President of Design for JLL; and Jonathan (married to Chisato), and working as Sales Coordinator with Sumitomo Electric in Southern California)--and twelve grandchildren: Anika, Josiah, Caleb, Katia and Gideon Huddleston; Michaela (married to Sam Richardson), Benjamin, Elijah, Johanna and Ami Wolfe; Edison Clark; and Sean Clark.
