Kansai Christian School

Kansai Christian School
KCS is an International Christian School in the Kansai area (Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe) of Japan. It is the only Christian school in the area where all classes are taught in English. It was particularly instituted for missionary children but is available for anyone who meets English entrance requirements. All of our full-time staff are dedicated Christians and classes are taught from a biblical worldview, Bible classes are taught daily and chapel is held on Fridays.

It's a unique school (grades 1-12) with small enrollment (near 50) and a great teacher/student ratio. The school is situated in a small, rural community, yet is only about 40 minutes from Osaka, Kyoto and Nara. Students commute from four different prefectures from distances as far as 1 ½ hours by train. Today about 50% of our students are Japanese and the rest are from as many as ten different countries. About 25% are Missionary Kids (MKs).

Our students have been accepted by many of the top 50 universities in the United States and students have also gone to universities in other countries. The flags in the hall represent the countries of graduates and of staff who have served at KCS through the years.

Rickie has worked at KCS as Executive Assistant since 1985. Paul has represented Osaka Christian Mission on the board since 1985, serving as Chairman and Vice-Chairman over the years. Our youngest three children (Jocelyn, Jeremy and Jonathan) all graduated from KCS. Currently both Paul and Rickie make the hour-long trip to KCS two or three days a week.
