Kansai Christian School

KCS is an International Christian School in the Kansai area (Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe) of Japan.  It exists to provide an education in the English language that is committed to an evangelical Christian worldview, and, while being particularly instituted for missionary children, is available for anyone who meets entrance requirements. It is the only Christian international school in our Kansai area that teaches all classes in English. It's a unique school (grades 1-12) with small enrollment and a great teacher/student ratio. Our graduates have been accepted at many of the top 50 universities in the United States.  All classes are taught from a biblical worldview. Children from non-Christian homes are welcome, too.  This school year, 2012-13, we have children from six different countries representing 9 nationalities.  There are 5 nationalities represented in the staff. Rickie has worked at KCS as Executive Assistant since 1985 and both Paul and Rickie are on the school board.

Our principal, Albert Greeff, was initiated into his principalship in the fall of 2006 with the news that we had to evacuate our old Middle/High School Building immediately because of extensive termite damage!  We were able to rent another building on the same campus temporarily but the contract was only made to the end of June 2007.  We were given permission later to stay on the same campus until we could move to our own property.

Following is the timetable that God used to lead us to and develop our own property!

God answered more prayers!  In the summer of 2011 KCS received enough funds to remodel the "future classroom" in the open 2-story building into a classroom now being used by Grades 1-2!  We are grateful to our loving Lord and to those who gave gifts to make this possible!

KCS Board

The 2013-14 school year brought changes and challenges which the Lord blessed as we were faithful.  Principal Albert Greeffand his teacher wife Cecile returned to South Africa after nine years of excellent and faithful service to the Lord at KCS.  Our new principal, Sampo Sainio from Finland, arrived with his family in October 2014; three new teachers became a part of our staff; and the student body increased by about 25% during this school year.
